ABOUT THAT'S MY CHILD

That’s My Child (TMC) is dedicated to empowering the community by mentoring youth through arts education, entrepreneurship, and workforce development to break the cycle of generational poverty.

TMC serves young people and their families in underserved communities, providing them with the tools and skills to succeed in life and ultimately build stronger futures for themselves and their families through such programs as:

1    Art Programs: Art activities foster creativity and self-expression, providing a positive outlet for students who may struggle with traditional academic subjects. These programs will focus on building emotional resilience, problem-solving skills, and community engagement, while also serving as an incentive for regular school attendance.
2    Afterschool Tutoring: Our afterschool tutoring program will provide academic support, particularly in core subjects such as Math, English, and Science. This individualized support helps students catch up on missed work, stay on track academically, and reduce school absences due to academic frustration.
3    Mentoring: Students will be paired with trained mentors who will offer one-on-one guidance, support, and encouragement. Mentors will help students set academic and personal goals, providing an added layer of emotional support and motivation for improved attendance and engagement in school.
4    Workforce Development: This program will provide career exploration and soft skills training to help students see the value of education in their future success. By connecting academic learning to real-world careers, we aim to motivate students to stay engaged in their education and reduce absenteeism.
